C. elegans Behavior & Phenotyping
Imaging
Observe, locate and quantify the expression of a fluorescence-tagged protein in a whole animal.
Left: Amphid sensory neurons are stained with Neuro Red–DiI staining.
Right: Confocal microscopy of LMN-1::GFP.
APPLICATIONS
Obtain high quality images to highlight changes in morphology or fluorescence in each individual. Detect & visualize morphological defects of a genetically modified strain.
ASSAY DESCRIPTION
High powered microscopy is used to capture brightfield and fluorescent images of live animals. Fluorescent proteins and fluorescent dyes can both be observed as appropriate.
DATA COLLECTED
Images and quantification of fluorescence for 10 worms/condition will be collected.
